JYP Entertainment Releases Statement About Stray Kids’ Hyunjin’s Future Activities

Follow up to this , this and this post

As it has been reported in the past few days, several South-Korean celebrities (including idols and actors) have been accused of being bullies in the past, one of those idols is Hyunjin , member of kpop band Stray Kids, JYP entertainment (the company that manages the group) released several statements in the past few days.

At first they said they were investigating but also stated that several of the claims were false, but when more victims started to came up they couldn't deny anything anymore and released and statement apologizing for Hyunjin's past actions (even if they were very vague about those actions and mantained they weren't sure about what happened because all the people involved gave conflicting information) , the agency on the statement said we will take more careful measures regarding the trainee and artist selection process that we weren’t alert about before.

The idol apologized with a hand written letter:

Hello, this is Stray Kids’ Hyunjin.

First of all, I sincerely apologize to those who were hurt by my improper actions during my school years. Looking back on times when I was more lacking, I am embarrassed and have no excuse. I have realized that my actions and words that did not know how to be considerate of others have hurt others. It is too late, but I will deeply reflect on myself.

Whether it was intended or not, I don’t think I can be forgiven at all for giving unforgettable to pain to someone.
I am deeply reflecting on myself as I know well that just because I apologized and they accepted the apology doesn’t mean that the pain I gave in the past will be erased entirely.

Although this is shameless, I want to express gratitude to those who were hurt by me for allowing me to directly meet them to belatedly apologize and ask for forgiveness through this letter.

If there happen to be others who have been hurt by my improper actions during my school years who I cannot meet directly, I want to express my apologies at least through writing like this.

I sincerely apologize for causing deep disappointment to the many people who have supported me.

That seemed to be the end of it but earlier JYP released another statement regarding Hyunjin's activities and how his current activities were canceled :

Hello, this is JYPE.

We are writing to inform you about Stray Kids’ Hyunjin’s future activities. The agency has been contacting the people in charge of all the activities that Hyunjin had previously scheduled to participate in, investigating the best way to cancel the activities that would minimize the harm done to them.

This process took some time, so this statement on Hyunjin’s future activities was also inevitably delayed. Hyunjin will take the time to self-reflect after halting all of his activities as a celebrity.

He sincerely regrets and is self-reflecting on the fact that he hurt various people in middle school with his rough and unsuitable words. He has sincerely apologized to those who were hurt and is doing his best so that those people can heal from those wounds.

We sincerely apologize for causing such serious concern with this issue.

Dolly Parton (+9 {4} Others) Named One of NME's People Who Defined 2020, Also Saved a Child's Life

Not content with being an icon of music and film, @DollyParton went the extra mile during this pandemic year https://t.co/bVJstUPTzX — NME (@NME) December 13, 2020 The big news for Dolly Parton this year was, of course, her role as a financial backer of research into a COVID vaccine. Her $1 million donation to Vanderbilt University has contributed to the development of Moderna's vaccine - you can't save 2020 much more than that. Oh, but in case you needed another reason to love Dolly this year, she also spoke up in support of Black Lives Matter, saying, “Of course Black lives matter. Do you think our little white asses are the only ones that matter? No!” How to even sum up John Boyega's 2020? He's spoken out very publicly about his thoughts on how his role in Star Wars dwindled over the course of the trilogy, but more importantly, he spoke up even louder at a Black Lives Matter demonstration in London, making waves with his passionate speech. ONTD Original: Monthly Movie Challenge – January

Another 10-task challenge. You obviously don’t need to do all 10 tasks, choose as many as you want, but I figured it gives you some variety and allows you to pick and choose movies that fit your taste but also maybe lead you to watch something you wouldn’t normally seek out. For each task, you can pick whatever movie fits within the guidelines, I've added links to help you out. I tried to add tasks that would allow you to get movies on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and/or Hulu – but there’s also Kanopy and Hoopla (both of which you can get free access through your library or university). Have a different movie for each task – that is, don’t have the same movie for task 2 and task 6. Tasks: 1. The man who will say yes to anything (except paying his taxes), Nicolas Cage , has a birthday on January 7th. Watch any one of his movies. 2. Watch any movie that has been referenced in Parks and Recreation . 3. I've been invited to a worrying number of house parties the last few weeks (t
